Cannot delete message

I have a message in my 'messages' folder that I think is spam. Somebody has sent me their PIN. I have declined but it still appears under 'messages'. I have tried to delete but cannot. I have searched all folders and cannot find. It has a tiny yellow icon with question mark next to message. Has anybody got any idea how to get rid. Thanks Joyce
