Default blackberry messenger always running

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry messenger seems to be always running even after I click Close. Anyone know if there's a way to close it? I have no friends =P

BlackBerry Messenger works via pinning. I don't think there is a way to turn it off. If you never use BlackBerry Messenger you can always remove the application.

If your device is connected to your specific network (i.e. Cingular, Verizon, etc.) you will always be connected to BB messenger. Even if you uninstall BB messenger user can still PIN you. Therefore if you have the wireless turned on BB messenger will always be connected and it is impossible to "turn off." User ChrisBenson is on the right path; if you uninstall BB messenger then you will receive PINs the same as SMS messages.

BlackBerry Messenger running all the time will not slow down the BlackBerry.

Yeah I'm not worried about it slowing down the BB, its such a minimal app but I was just curious if I could close it to get a couple kb memory back. Its not a big deal at all, I will keep it installed. Thanks for the answers
