Default No Data Plan, Remove DCR

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought my wife a 7290 to be used as a phone and organizer. We have no intention as of now to buy her a data plan.

Is there any way to get rid of the Data Connection Refused banner on her home screen? I've searched a bit and cannot find the solution.

Thanks for any help you might offer...

I think it has to do with the carrier.

The only time I saw "DCR" was after I updated the OS and my BB was reset. After a few hours the DCR dissappeared.

There might be an option on the handheld to not even ask for a data connection but I'm not aware of it.

Sorry...you're stuck with that banner so long as you don't have a BB Data Plan. Wish there was a way to remove it...

Well, couldn't you just go to Options - Network - and change the top option of Data Services to off?

Wirelessly posted (NakedBerry: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

I know there was thread on how to get rid of it on a Cingular BB, but I don't know where. it is possible though.

I've seen it discussed a few times, only to see no resolution. If there's a way to do it, I'll happily stand corrected.

That is not available on earlier versions of the handheld OS.

Here is the link to the other thread where they claim to remove it on a GSM Blackberry. I cant comment on whether it works, but it sounds like it might. Good luck!
