does the 8700g have bb messenger pre-installed or do i need to dwnload it?
if i do have to dwnload where or a link ?????????????

I believe it has to be downloaded

Correct, it does need to be downloaded. If you are using OS 4.2 then it is only available for install via the OS install in the Desktop Manager; no OTA install.
