Default DST Application/Basic Time Setting

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all, I am a new user of a BES for a small business running about 18 blackberry devices off of the server. Anyhow, last year I had went through the requirements for the DST upgrade and everything went through fine, but this time around I saw no upgrade and figured that it would just do it automatically. I searched for documentation on how to set the time or upgrade but haven't seen anything outside of the 2007 upgrade.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get everyone's device an hour ahead?

I have had one user inform me they tried it manually but it didn't stick because of a message saying it wasn't matching the server's time.

Any ideas? Also, I am thinking about taking some Blackberry courses has anyone ever taken one that got them up to par with the basics of running a BES? How was it if you did?

You don't have to do DST upgrade every year. The upgrade was labeled 2007 because the new DST schedule was starting in 2007.

You will only see a 2008 DST if they decide to go back to the old schedule.

If you are experiencing issues with some of your users where the time did not update following DST this year, you will want to look at the RepairTimeZones.exe utility (on RIM's DST page). It will fix the wireless backup/synchronization data for the Time Zones tables on the device.
