Default VeriChat on the 7100?

Please Login to Remove!

In my constant quest to find a better instant messenger client for my 7100, I saw this post http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1530 about a new blackberry AOL, ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN messenger program, I put it on my 7100 today but I'm not having any luck connecting to anything.

Do a search for this in Blackberry forums on www.pdastreet.com. One person stated that he couldn't get it to work on his 7100, either. Then, someone from Pda Apps stated it's related to some port being blocked and they're working on it.

Let us know if you get it working as I was thinking about installing the app, too.

It works on my 7100t, but I also have MDS, which is a requirement.

That could be my problem, but doesn't the 7100 already have IPPP so it shouldn't need MDS?

i don't believe that TMO has fully unthrottled this yet, even though you do have a service book for it. it works fine for my 7100 w/ MDS enabled from our BES.

I just installed and configured the app. It seems to log into pdaapps.com fine but I am not able to log into the IM services for aim, y!, or msn at all. I will test it out a little more and see what will happen.

are you connected to a BES w/ MDS..? if not, are you a Nextel or Verizon user? that should be the first FAQ questions about VeriChat. if you answer "No" to both questions above, then you will not get past the status screen.

I am a Tmobile user with the BWC 19.99 plan option. I know webmessenger worked before and now I am trying out the verichat which is not working atm. I was about to ask the question about if I need a diffrent plan to make this work?
