Default Monitoring Web Surfing Traffic (BES)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

Our entire company uses a web monitoring appliance. Basically it is capable of matching IP addresses (and often the names) to where they go on the public internet. It is also capable of blocking sites.

The administrator for this appliance has mentioned that she notices a large amount of web traffic coming from our BES server. She asked me if there was anyway to identify each individual user as they surf the web on their blackberry devices.

In this respect I see the BES has one big transparent NAT device for the blackberry. Meaning, all web surfing looks like it is being done right on the BES device.

I thought I would ask others if they had any information on this or what they are doing to monitor web traffic from Blackberry Devices

I have the similary problem and cannot resolve to.

I think you may parse log file DISP for records with event id = [30310] and calculate field "size". Sum values for all users and compare with web monitoring appliance traffic.

If it's solution please, write for me

sorry, correcting:

parse log file DISP for records with event id = [30310] AND contentType=IPPP (CICAL for calendar, CMIME for e-mails)

Wirelessly posted (8300)

Does that include md5 traffic or just http and/ socket? Is there a way to differentiate?
