Hi Guys,

My phone went flat the other day and once charged I can no longer get into my sms & mms icon. It has completely disappeared I can send a message through compose but i can not receive any and have no notification if i am getting any. I have tried to reboot phone on numerous occaasions, I have also done a battery pull a few times and I have checked that it is not hidden and my email and sms are separate and not combined. I am getting an error message that reads blackberry message uncaught exception java.lang.nullpointerexception. I am not connected to the internet or email I just use this phone for standard call and sms use..PLEASE HELP

Optus has multiple service offerings. It is possible the carrier removed the service. If you go to options and check applications do you see SMS? If not it was removed and you might try to reload the OS.

I also have the exactly same problem. SMS icon is missing as soon as charged after the bettery was completely drained. SMS can not be received but can be sent. When tyring to view the SMS Inbox folder, the stupid Uncaught Exception java.lang.nullpointerexception pops up. Also SMS options is missing when go to Options and applications! I tried everything like soft reboot, hard reboot, n number of times; but of no use.
Is OS loading only option ? Whether a "Wipe Handheld" or/and "Reset Factory confiuration" should help. Please help.

I exactly have the same problem with my 8900 curve. Is the problem resolved? if so, can you please tell what you did.

I have the same problem on my Bold 9700 twice. I did not even have a clue how the heck the sms icon returned in few days later.
