7100g to transfer files such as ringtones and pictures? If what should I be looking for in a Bluetooth adapter

Nope. No BT transfer of media to a 7100. Ringtones are transferred via the browser and you can mail pictures to yourself.

So a bluetooth adapter for my desktop would not work? Dang, dont guess can tranfer from phone to phone via bluetooth either can I ?

Bluetooth is available to transfer PIM information - calendar, notes, tasks, etc on the 7100.
