Default Deleted e-mails do not show up in deleted folder on blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

When I delete an e-mail from our blackberries, the e-mail does not show up in the deleted folder on the blackberry. But the e-mail does show up in the deleted folder in Outlook. Does anyone know how to see set this so that when I delete an e-mail on the blackberry, I will see it in the deleted folder on the blackberry? Thank you.

I don't believe this is possible.

BlackBerry Search Results 0 110948980

"When you are in View Folder > Deleted Items, an indication of No Messages is displayed.

This is by design. The BlackBerry device does not reconcile the Deleted Items folder because of space considerations."

That seems dumb to me. Why then have a 'deleted items' folder if you're not going to synchronize it?

It's just a display. The BB displays all folders in your mailbox, the red line through the checkbox should indicate that you can't add it to your reconcilable folders.

It's not dumb to not reconcile it, I've seen so many emails in a Deleted Items folder that your memory would eventually get low enough to start deleting emails from the BB's inbox. They probably could remove it from the list but I don't see why you'd want it on the BB in the first place.

I guess it's not that important of an item. Maybe if enough people complain about it like other non important insignificant features they will change it in the future.

I think seeing the deleted items would be very helpful.

I don't think space is really an issue--the BB could just be set to delete after a certain number of days or when the device starts getting full.

Good Mobile Messaging syncs deleted items, and it's something I really miss with BES.

Why delete the email if you still need to see/access it? I never understood why users file emails in their deleted items folder, it seems to always to lead to a problem.

Agreed, I never understood that either. I remember back in the Lotus Notes 5.x days I had a user who refused to the Notes trashcan. He would always have issues with his mail file because of its size. Almost half the size was within his trashcan. Troubleshooting with him was a nightmare. We eventually forced the trash can to empty when upgrading to Lotus Notes 6.5.x and the soft delete was set at 48 hours. After 48 hours any messages set for deletion were automatically and permenately deleted.

I have also seen individuals use their deleted items folder as a place to file messages. I (also) don't understand it but as long as they stay within their mailbox size quota, I don't care.

I would simply argue that sync'ing the deleted items folder could be useful because people sometimes delete the wrong message (ahhhh... not that I've ever done that!) and getting to your mail client to recover it may not be all that convenient.

Default Solution Yet

Has anyone figured out how to get the deleted items, currently in my Outlook profile, to be visable on the device?

We would love to be able to view our deleted items while on the road. What if I delete something and need it asap? I'm screwed.

Any RIM employees reading this, please make this a feature.

Thanks,
The Brused IT Guy.
