Have a new user who was issued a brand spanking new blackberry 8310 and I have some issues with it. We use BES v 3.6

First of all the supplied disk wouldn't run - start.exe displayed an error. I don't think this is related.

I installed the desktop Software (I think it was v 4.3 I tried first) from a network share and all went OK. Until it was time to synchronise. It got as far as

Filing messages
Determining the root configuration name for the main system


We then got a dialog box diplayed on the PC saying "Unknown Error."

Upon testing it appeared that neither contacts nor calender were synching up. IT's curious that calendar wouldn't sync as that's supposed to use blackberyy wireless sync but I found I couldn't check the sync options to see if I needed to configure this manually. I got the same "unknown error"

So I uninstalled 4.3, downloaded 4.5 and intalled that. Unfortunately got the same unknown error.

So I wiped the devide and reainstalled the OS "8310M_PBr4.2.2_rel265_PL2.5.0.16_A4.2.2.146_Vodaf one_UK.exe"

Connected it and "unknown error"

So I set her up on another user's PC running Desktop manager version 4.2 SP2. This time it synched happily. I was able to get into the confirguration and set to to sync its calendar wirelessly.

Back on the users PC we find that the claender is now synching wirelesslessly but we still get "unknown error" when trying to sync and contacts are not updating.

What else can I try?
