Default How to turn off Sure Type?

Please Login to Remove!

I've used the SEARCH option in both this forum and elsewhere, I've read and re-read the manual countless times, I've gone through every bit of the options menu on the device, etc., so please don't flame me for asking this question...

How do I turn off Sure Type?

In older threads people have said go to OPTIONS, then choose LANGUAGE or LANGUAGE SETTINGS and there'll be an option to toggle between double tap and Sure Type.

Maybe things have changed since those posts many, many months ago. In my OPTIONS list there is no LANGUAGE or LANGUAGE SETTINGS sub menu.

According to my device I'm using v4.5.0.52 (Platform 2.7.0.66)

For those of you who love Sure Type and suggest I bear with it, 8000 names and addresses from contacts all over the world (India, Thailand, Brazil, etc) means I want to type words in myself and not use any form of predictive text. It may suit your lifestyle, but it certainly doesn't suit mine! And I don't need to rely on Sure Type to spell words correctly, either!

Thanks for any help offered.

Whenever you're typing something... press the menu button (left of trackball), and choose 'Enable Multi-tap' from the menu.

Thanks for that!!!

There's NOTHING in the user manual to that effect, and obviously the software has changed since the answers I saw about Options>Languages etc were given.

At last I can type in names like Sathyaram Varadagupta without it ending up as something completely different!
