4.7.0.78 ---> 4.7.0.83 "or" 4.7.0.85
Please Login to Remove!
This is the OS that is currently on my Storm. Have had it for a littler over a week. But reading thru these forums, I can see that there is a .83 and .85 version.
I am with Vodafone, and have the 9500 model.
Would anyone suggest upgrading to .83 or even .85?
Seen that these have been leaked over in Crackberry? OS 4.7.0.85 Leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9530! | CrackBerry.com
Would this upgrade be compatiable for the 9500 model, even tho it is mentioned for the 9530 model?
All the help & advise would be greatfully received!

No, not THAT OS.
9500 = 9500
9530 = 9530
You can't mix the OS between models.
That said, the same version .83 and .85 are out in Beta for the 9500. Google might find them.

To complete what was already said...
I strongly suggest you avoid 4.7.0.83. There are way too many glitches (like unlocking the screen, memory card issues, lag, etc...) that have been addressed with .85
Best of luck!

GOOGLE!
Yes I know that.
I have searched. But can only find the OS for the Storm 9530... and not the Storm 9500, the model I currently own!
Hence why I am asking for a little help, and not sarcasm!

Hey, that was direction... not sarcasm. It is about the ONLY place you will find it.
I just googled it and found it on the FIRST page of links.
Directions: "9500 4.7.0.85". Look at each google link until you find the one that has the 9500 version.
Is that clear enough? Really, it is there. .85 and .83 as well.

Went from .83 to .85 yesterday.
.85 seems more responsive, specially the camera and the transition from landscape to portrait and vice versa.
Other than that, I did not experience any issues with .83, so it's hard to tell...

.85 installed and looks to be stable and more responsive.

.85 is definitely better than previous versions, but still needs work.
I installed .85 after a full wipe with Crackmem. My biggest issue is that the phone steadily loses memory over a day or two until it becomes very flaky and i do a battery pull. After a battery pull I'm at about 49MB. When it gets below 25MB i pull the battery and reset.
I am VERY anal about closing any program I use. I use the phone app mostly, with a little browsing, a bit of SMS texting & email (and a bit of Brick Breaker).
The only 3rd party app I have on my BB is Google maps 2.3.2 (which I use very little).
My 2 cents.
