Bold or Iphone ?
Please Login to Remove!
Time to upgrade and having a tough time deciding whether or not to get the Bold or the Iphone ? Both phones have lots of capabilities one or the other doesn't have, I know the Bold outweighs the Iphone with features though. But, the Iphone is $100 less than the Bold. Need to decide by this Thursday.

I am extremely happy with my current blackberry, but need a 3g device. I know I will love the Bold, but not to fond of the hefty price tag, can't see myself paying that much for a cell phone.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8310)
You'll probably be paying more for the iPhone plan though... So in the end you would be loosing money.

I switched to iPhone just before Christmas.... for 1 week, I sent it back.
Having been a blackberry user for about 2 years I found the iphone lacked too many things that I needed.
If you want to know more I posted some details in my blog, see sig.

Nothing wrong with asking questions, that's what forums are for !! Don't understand your question however as it is irrelevant to the topic.

If 3G is a priority, and you already know the BB offerings, I say go for the Bold. The price is worth it IMO. And if you message alot, in any fashion - text, email, BBM (which you won't have on the iPhone), you have the ability to cut & paste. just my .02

I used the iPhone 3G for several months before bailing and getting the 2 Bolds. As Serkle K stated, if you are a heavy message user of any type then the Bold is the better choice.

And go for a non-ATT branded Bold if possible so you can switch between 2G and 3G. Nothing wrong with the ATT Bold except that if you are not going to be using the 3G radio for something like Modem tethering, you may find the battery draining faster. I keep mine in EDGE/2G unless I need to tether.

And if you thought Activesync on the iPhone gives you everything BES or Windows Mobile gives you...check again.
Folder management
Opening links in email to documents stored on SharePoint servers
Memopad synchronization
Task synchronization
Setting an xxx8220;out of officexxx8221; autoreply message
Creating meeting invitations
Flagging messages for follow-up
Client certificate-based authentication
Detecting phone and url in emails
and finally copy paste

Honestly, two TOTALLY different phones. I have had both and personally like the Bold better. When it comes down to actual useability, messaging, calling, etc the Bold wins. It just has more productive options like copy and paste and awesome multi-tasking. However, the iPhone is way cool and has a bunch of awesome, fun to use apps. WAY more than any Blackberry. I think it kind of comes down to do you want to use your phone as a phone, for like messaging and talking, or more of a fun device for like games and apps. I know it's not that cut and dry, but that was the way I felt about the iPhone It was like a time waster with a phone as well. But don't get me wrong, there are a looooooot of fun ways to waste time on an iPhone!
