Just be a bit more conservative with water and wipe off all the excess after applying and you should be fine.
Maybe the best thing for the Bold is BSE for the sides/exposed top/bottom edges and a hard plastic screen protector (I assume the screen is flat) that you don't use water with, just stick on. For Curves/Pearls they're like $4.50 shipped on ebay (for 2 or 3).

Just put BSE on 3 ATT BB's. No issues at all.

I've had this exact same issue after putting on my BSE last Friday. I wouldn't consider the amount of water, that was used, to be excessive. It was no more than the other IS/BSE applications that I've done.

My screen looked almost exactly like the photos on this site (well, not in the same areas but similar dark and lightened areas): bbhub.com/2006/10/19/before-and-after-wet-blackberry-screen-dried-out-screen

I didn't take a picture otherwise, since I was afraid to leave the battery in.

It has been sitting in a bowl of uncooked rice ever since. Most of the water has seemed to have dried up. Now there are only numerous smaller lightened wet spots, about the size of a medium Bic pen's tip, littering the screen. The Bold seems to be functional from a few quick tests that I've done, but nothing was extensive (I've been on a backup phone in the mean time).

My Bold was made in "Hungary 1" if that makes any difference.

Did the white specks ever go away? I wonder if your screen is permanently damaged :(

When he went to apply the screen protector to his Bold he did it as he normally would - just the right amount of water/baby shampoo mix and not soaked with water, but enough to do the job. When he put it on he immediately noticed that the screen got water in it [under the clear plastic lens, which distorted and screwed up the LCD].

My question is, has anyone else had this problem? I want to put a BSE on my Bold but I am worried that perhaps this device is more susceptible to water penetration than other Blackberries. Again, I have put skins on a variety of iPhones, Blackberries, and Apple laptops - never with a problem [and so has my friend].

Just a little worried here [my friend had to buy a new Bold].
LOL. Its amazing what some people do to their phones. Those skins are trash. Do you put plastic over your couch too?

If he jumped off a cliff and went splat would you jump too and hope not to splat? (btw how'd it look when he got done?lol)

for those who dont know Zagg does have many retail locations across the U.S
so if you are thinking about Invisableshield i would suggest visiting a location and saving yourself from screwing up a new phone.
