Where can I get 216 from?

I can't seem to find it on any providers website.

247 is just killing my battery life. And I have the rem file bug that never appeared before.

Very odd..

Edit: Found it. I was googling the wrong version number. 4.7 isn't out yet

I installed this on thursday and have had no issues - except the VVM - which I will address when I get to the office tomorrow AM.

I also have been unable to receive any emails from the desktop redirector. I use that to get my work email. The redirector shows that it has sent all of the messages to my phone (redirector shows last sent message received tonight about 5 minutes ago and there are none pending) - but I have not received any work emails since the update.

What happened? Any idea how to fix it?

I am also unable to send any emails from that account......

please help

Default Bluetooth issue...will not Enable

When I try to enable bluetooth, the dialog box saying "Enabling Bluetooth" comes up for a few seconds and then disappears, leaving only a blank screen. Choosing "Add Device" does the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem? I just upgraded to the Bold.

I've now resorted back to using .216 as this version is as buggy as the previous one to .216

1) I use A2DP a lot (bluetooth headset, bluetooth headunit in the car, bluetooth stereo etc) and after about 20-25mins of playback the device just reboots itself
2) The reboots themselves take at least 5-6 minutes on mine
3) The whole system runs slow (almost 8110 OS 4.5 levels of performance )

It seems that RIM tends to fix one problem with their software builds but overlook the previous problem and vice-versa

I utterly love my Bold, i have no intention of replacing it until another 3G, Wi-Fi & GPS enabled Blackberry comes along however these software builds get sorted out.

I am DEFINATELY gonna wait til everyone else is rocking the official version of OS 5.0 for the Bold before i even attempt to upgrade mine again

P.S. to downgrade the OS on the device is it the same process as installing an update?

I have fixed my previous issues, but now have a new one......I can't gmail mail on my phone. I have set it up via the web and via the phone. I get the service books and a message saying that I have activated my account successfully......however, when I send myself test messages, I never get them. I did not have the problem prior to the update and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Well, looks like I might give this a try... been happy with the .210 and was thinking about waiting for the 5. But not confident in what I have been hearing about that yet so I might go for this one!!!

It's been suggested that I try out this version of the OS, since the stock AT&T OS seems to be rebooting when I lose cell coverage and go to cycle the radio. And now, other random reboots. Wish me luck... Battery couldn't possibly be any worse than it was before. Will post an update afterwards...

U can download from BB site. Can't post link here...

To be able to post links or images your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 3 posts

Anyway, Goto blackberry.com, and goto Support, choose BlackBerry Device and Desktop Software, then Access your service provider download site, and goto PCCW...choose Bold...

It is 'multilingual', on your bb just goto your option, language and u can find what language u using and loaded. Or you can even remove all other languages from your DM's application loader if you don't need it.

Multilingual does not include Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

These 3 languages are in the East Asia version.

I saw that BB News has had a 5.0.0.90 version up for a few days. Anyone tried it to see whats new? I've had it but am usually hesitant to try until others have discussed how it runs.

I just downgraded back to .221 from .247 the primary reasons...
1. Battery Drain (not even a heavy user a couple hours of calls/email/sms/mms per day tops)
2. Battery heating issues, I can't say for sure if this is an os related issue or not but it was not an issue with the previous FW.
3. Inconsitent memory, seems to have memory leaks.
4.The VVM app, takes up space, messes up regular notifications for VM and Att doesn't support the service anyway.

I guess I'll hang with .221 untill ATT gets on the 5.0 bandwagon in the comming months.

Hey -

I just installed this update. I was previously on the stock AT&T 9000 .167 - Here are my first impressions:

- Fixed a major video playback issue (fast forwarding that would hard reset the phone during playback - very annoying)
- Improved BB Browser speed (wow)
- Improved GPS seek time (it would take 2-4 mins to get a reading, now 15-30 seconds)
- Improved Interface/App speed (They seem a little zippier)

I will report back on any 3g or battery issues that come up, but so far I am pleased with the overall build. Thanks for sharing!

- shootz

My experience with this build is that memory leaks are reduced, battery life is better, seems solid and fast. The only quirk seems to be that 3g drops down to EDGE more often, not sure why. Overall, I have been pleased with this build.

Sunder, give .247 another shot. I too had the same issues with .247 at first. I upgraded and I couldn't go more than 8 hours without needing a charge. Then....somehow...I bricked the phone. Very weird, I did an upgrade to quick launch and got an app error 200. Worse than the blue screen of death on a PC. I finally (thanks to BBF) got the phone back to where I could reinstall the OS. On a fluke, I decided to go to .247. instead of doing .221. Once I was done it was like getting it out of the box. I manually installed a lot of the apps and only loaded via DM the apps that were "tried and true". I went this route because I recall someone saying very early in this thread that he rarely has problems with upgrades because he doesn't restore, he reinstalls everything.

I did and ... It's working great!!! Battery life is much better, no heating, pretty much everything that shootzbootz summarized.

P.S. - I got the quick launch upgrade working fine too. Must have been a fluke..a really painful one, but a fluke nonetheless.
