Default Tring to use a boostberry

Please Login to Remove!

I have Boost mobile, and after getting a 7520 from a friend I put in the sim card and everything kinda worked, but after updating to the 4.0 software I cannot get a signal for the phone to work. It's not the sim as when i place it back in the boost phone it works great.

WHAT CAN I DO????? I really want to use the blackberry phone.

Did you use the correct software for the 7520?

Angry Correct Software check

Yes, I went to the Blackberry site and downloaded the version matching the model number. I have since updated to 4.1. Here are my steps till now.
  • Opened 7520 inserted card made three phone calls then lost signal.
  • Downloaded 4.0 desktop and device software from Blackberry
  • Connected device and sync'ed my address book
  • Still unable to make phone calls
  • Updated device on Boost website
  • Called Boost - Told it should have worked - told to go to sprint store
  • Saw issue with IT-Policy
  • Added registry it-policy fix - still no signal
  • Downloaded and used "JL_Cmder - resettofactory - resync - still no signal
  • Ran "Wipe" - still no signal -resync - still no signal
  • Placed sim back into i730 - made 4 calls - placed chip back into 7520 - no
signal

Please help... Thanks

Have you used the search feature of this forum?

Please search on "boostberry". There are a lot of threads about this workaround.

Default Search

Thanks, and yes I have done some searching on this site which is where I found most of the tricks\fixes I mentioned. I will do another search as I have been known to miss something from time to time but any and all help is appriciated.

Ok great. I just wanted to make sure you knew that that resource was available. A surprising number of people don't know about that forum feature.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues associated trying to use workarounds like BoostBerry. Sometimes they just don't work, and this may be one of those times.

After adding the service book, once more I had service for about three hours. It came up and I made a call which dropped. signal came back and I made another call, them it lost the signal and as of yet has not come back.
