ok so now my phone started saying uncaught exception:java.lang.nullpointerexception everytime i do a quickpull but right before it's going to reset it also tells me this "this device is required to reset to complete module installation or removal.device inoperate for voice, calls, data and 911 recordings." and also i noticed that my messages dont show up in the inbos i have to click option and then folders and then i click on a certain folder for example sms inbox and then they show up. i was thinking of just swiping my handheld.

About the third line doen should be a string of numbers starting with a "v"m
Example: v5.0.0.314

Update your OS and see if that fixes anything.

Follow the directions carefully:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

My phone worked okay until about four weeks ago since when it has stopped recording call log details. When I access the call log folder or missed call folder from messages I get the message "Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointerException" I did follow John Clark's advice but this has not cured the problem. My app version is 4.6.1.133(217)

Update your OS to v4.6.1.462 and see if that fixes anything.

Many thanks for the help. I have upgraded the OS and everything seems to be working fine.
