Default New Blackberry 8520 Power Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Just got a Blackberry 8520, first Blackberry so no idea of basic functions of the brand.

It had about 30-50% battery fresh from the box, i played around with it for a short while then popped it on charge. After an hour or so i took it off put the simcard in and then i came to turn it on, it wouldn't.

I put the charger back on and the red light came on for 5-10 seconds solid then went off then a white screen with an empty white battery and a lightning symbol.

This image (the white battery, empty, with a lightning bolt) has now been on for about 1hr 30mins and i've tried taking off the charge to turn it on and its not doing anything.

Hope you can help.

Default One way to solve it

I am on a trip in UK and have had same exact problem. I hve now had to buy 3 new batteries during my trip. Expensive...but if you are deperate, it works

I think the problem arises when the battery gets so low, the phone wont recognize it to charge properly somehow. When you put in a new battery---even if its not charged, it has engough power to boot phone.

I think there must be a bug that doesnt reset the charge system somehow

I hope you fig this out.
