I have the official bbm 5 version 5.0.0.56 and my friends say that my display picture doesn't show up on their bbm's... is there something else I have to do so my display picture will show up???

It's a problem with blackberry server's. Not everyone is experiencing the issue and not everyone's is the same. Some people their status does not update. You can try uninstall and reinstall from blackberry app world but i doubt will fix. Blackberry is aware of the issue and working to fix it.

That's weird...my BBM uses pictures from my own address book
