Hey guys,

This might be a newbie question, but I just got my 9700 and am new to BlackBerry's.

I added the e-mail and BBM plan on it, so no data.

I however connected to my linksys at home and it shows that wireless is working fine, but when I go to connect to browser, it says unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.

Is this because the phone is locked to Rogers and they don't want to let browsing at all if you do not have data, or am I doing something wrong?

When i went to maps, it was downloading maps (through Wi-fi i guess)

Also, I did not change anything since i got the phone yesterday (updated OS) but only got the new BBM. The phone works great otherwise, do I really need an updated OS?

Go to Options >Advanced Options >Browser and set the Hotspot browser to be the default browser.

Also about the other stuff I said, any suggestions?
I guess Ill just download desktop software from online.
