Default 8320 unresponsive.

Hey all Before making the post I searched all I could, but one of the problems was exactly similar to mine.

Well a friend of mine gave me her 8320 because she said it didn't work. I only have a USB charge. When I plug it in a red lights turns on and of then the battery symbols appears, yet the phone never turns on after hours of charge.

I've tried plugging it with no battery and the screen turns on with the no battery sign. The computer also detects it at the USB port both times.

Any suggestions, should I try opening it, new battery? I would really like to fix this phone 'cause my other one busted up and this the only one left.

Might be a bad battery or it could be the USB port isn't providing enough to charge. If you have a tmobile store near you, go in and ask(nicely) to temporarily use one of their batteries to verify if yours is bad.

Actually, do you have Desktop Manager loaded on the PC? You need that to load the drivers to allow the USB charge to work. Also, do not plug into a HUB, plug directly into the PC.

Try that before buying a battery - but keep in mind it could be a combo of the two as well.

Good point Dub. I completely forgot about the drivers.

@maaseru - as to whether or not the tmobile store will charge you. Who knows, they might not even let you borrow the battery. Just depends on the kindness of the person you talk to. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

I had it already installed and it still didn't charge. My friend told me also that she had changed the battery once, so it must be a problem in the usb slot. Any solutions or guide to fix, because the phone is not on warranty no more

Does the battery meter show charging when you connect it to the USB port?

I don't know of anything left to try other than what has already been suggested or possibly buying a wall charger.
