Angry WiFi billing/International

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8900 BB with T-Mobile. I work international but our Internet Service provider is in Wisconsin, USA. My network is turned off, my data and my GPS. I make calls through the internet provider with my WiFi and I keep getting billed for it.

To top it off, two others are connected to the same router, same provider as I am and they do not get billed international.

Anyone know what can be done about this? How do they know where I am at? Big brother stuff?

M.

i.e Your using UMA.
Yes, they charge you for UMA usage, unless you have pre-paid for their monthly service for use of UMA.
(last I heard anyway)

It used to be that you could make calls back to the U.S.when traveling internationally in UMA. I am pretty sure I saw on this forum several months ago that T-Mobile can now tell if you are making an international call over UMA and will charge international rates for that call.
I haven't tried to make any calls when out of the country since I heard this so I can't confirm it. I'm sure someone else on the forum may be able to verify?
