Hi All,

Sorry for asking what possibly may be a very stupid question but i figured somebody here may be able to help.

I upgraded to a 9800 last week after finally tracking down a handset at Phones4u, all was well untill i noticed that the UMA feature wouldnt work (previously had a curve 8900 that worked fine). I have called orange and they told me that they dont offer the UMA feature for handsets that were not bought through them

Now, does anybody know if i can get around this by installing an Orange firmware for the 9800 on my phone or do you think it will be locked out by PIN?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but im a bit out of my depth here lol

Nope, installing the Orange OS has no affect on UMA.
UMA is a firmware feature (hard-coded) and for it to work you must have an Orange branded device to use Orange UMA.

Nuts, well was worth the question. Thanks for the fast reply. Would i be okay installing the orange firmware just to get the multi language pack? Currently without asian characters and its a little annoying
