Honestly, the only thing I can suggest is that you download the newest possible version for ur os. Or you may wanna upgrade ur pearl to os4.5 and then you can use the most current facebook app which is 1.9.something something lol. That's all I came up with cause ur dealing with software that's more then 2 years old, and its hard to figure out what's happened. Mayne facebook shut down v 1.7, who knows. Sorry mate.
