i turned on my blackberry Curve 8900 and i get the Java.Lang.Nullpointerexception error. It comes out with the "ok" option but i cant click it. None of my buttons work and i cant user my phone at all.
if you can help me id really appreciate it.

Try a battery pull - that reboots the BB Operating system. If that doesn't work you will have to reinstall the OS (or upgrade)

If you decide to upgrade the OS, you will need to ....

To install any OS that didn't come from your vendor - its really easy.

Now! Copy these instructions and email them to yourself. Then you can refer to them on your PC.

This OS is from a different vendor, so you have to install it a special way!!!

1. backup your BB using Desktop Manager (just in case)

2. Close Desktop Manager (keep closed) - unplug BB.

3. Download File from the link to your PC

4. Double click to install file to PC

5. When it's finished - Go to Program Files, Common Files, Research in Motion, Apploader - Folder

6. Delete Vendor.xml file (And if you have Vista or Win7, open Compatibility Files and Delete Vendor.xml there too ... Only if it shows)

7. Run Loader.exe and plug BB in again. Follow the directions and it should take about 20min.

You won't be restoring your backup you made, because it's unnecessary. The Loader program does it for you.

Do a hard reset and test.

To do a hard reset, with the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. You won't lose data and it won't hurt the BlackBerry.
