Problem with BBM!!! Help? urgent!! :(

Okay, I got my bb a month ago... It worked fine at first, but now it's giving me a problem! I can receive messages on BBM, receive recent updates, but I cannot send any messages! The messages just don't deliver! I really can't send my bb in for repairs at the moment... Has anyone else had this problem and is there a self-solution??? Please say there is!
P.S: I'm from South Africa and I have a BB Curve 8520
