I was thinking seriously of getting a Playbook, but when it shipped with no native email, what good was it? None at all to me.

Re: Research in Motion Whiffs Earnings, Stock Drops
Everybody in the analyst world seems to think the PlayBook will go the way of the HP TouchPad. I still like mine, but I got it at a pretty good price. No, not $99 but still it was a bargain. If RIM thinks a simple software update is going to right the ship they had better make it a doozie of an update!

Apparently QNX 2.0 will be out by the end of this year and will have PIN, therefore native mail will be available together with all missing bits, still rumour tho.

I love my 9850, and don't miss my PlayBook at all

The truth points to itself. RIM stock are down 50% this year. The numbers don't lie. BGR might be Apple fanboys, but in this case they are right. You can't put your fingers in your ears and hum when you don't like the news, but the fact remains. RIM didn't see the future and they are paying for it now.

BGR gave a veey biased review of the 9850, that's what i was referring to, not the stock.

Re: Research in Motion Whiffs Earnings, Stock Drops
well i have had my playbook since day one and love it. i don't know why the blackberry users themselves have not embraced this great companion (playbook). I couldn't be without mine anymore. For Rim to only sell 500000 in firstquarter and only 200000 in the second is shocking to me. If the bb community doesn't buy it who will? i think its time to support Rim as the apple users support Apple. How much has apple changed its iphone from one new release to the other? most changes are a joke, yet they crash the stores just to get a new same phone. What the hell is wrong with the blackberry users. I feel we need to rally behind Rim and go out and buy playbook and help Rim grow and support it. Its hard to push a project forward with the sale being that stale. There is no reason Rim shouldn't have sold a million tablets already we just need to stop complaining and start supporting otherwise we might be left with nothing sooner than later......So get out and buy one and see what you have been missing all along

Re: Research in Motion Whiffs Earnings, Stock Drops
I would say the share prices only reflect RIMs devices hardware comparing to the competition, also the fact that they hardly meet their deadlines on releases and that to be the worse! Usage wise, I dont see their products as a flop.

I think the stock price drop is because we don't have a CEO with cool dance moves: Steve Ballmer going crazy - YouTube
