I've had a request from a client to change the Max Security Timout IT policy rule from 10 minutes to 4 or 5 minutes, the client is currently on BES 5 SP3 MR5 will be upgrading to Maintenance Release 6 on Monday.

I've noted on the BES policy reference guide for v5 SP3, that the minimum time that can be set is 10 minutes, is there anyway to override this.

IT Policy > Password > Set Password Timeout = x
The range is 0 to 60 minutes. It should be no trouble to set it to 4 or 5 minutes.
By default, it's 2 minutes for devices with OS 4.7 or lower...30 minutes for OS higher than 4.7.

however I still need some clarification, please see attached images, on the Device Only policy tab, the Maximum Security timeout is set to 10, and the notes next to it seem to say 10minutes is the minimum it can be set to.

However on the Password tab the Set Password Timeout value is not set, if i put a value in here would that override the Device Only setting.

As far as I know, the settings in the 'Device Only' policy group are deprecated and have been replaced by the policy settings in the 'password' group.

If both are set, the settings in the 'password' group SHOULD override the settings in the device only group.
