I'm running the latest BES express on a W2008 Server. I need to send my users mp3 files (from our phone system) by email.

I applied changes as per KB22953 and users can now receive MP3's on their BB's. However, when they play the MP3 files the are garbled and 2-3x normal speed.

I have tried generating mp3 files using VBR/CBR, different rates, mono/stereo, etc. They all play fine on a PC, but not properly on the BB (for example my 9900). I attached a sample to this message so you can play on your PC, then forward to your BB by email...

Can anyone help?

I have tested this and when I click on Open Attachment I get a choice of "Preview" or "Download & Play". If I use the "Download & Play" it works perfectly. The "Preview" doesn't work, probably because I have not applied KB22953.

I have done this on a 9780 with OS 6.0.0.668.

Perhaps it 9900 related, or BESexpress version. BUT....I changed my encoding to 16KHz, 16Bit, mono and now it previews fine on the BB!

Next problem, when I click download and play, I get a red X on the message and the status turns to "Device encountered an error during download". I'm not sure where to look for this one...I don't see an obvious error in any BES logs...suggestions?

Playes fine when saved on my torch 9810 on OS 7.1 with BES 4.1.7. Can not preview it.

I'm suspecting its BESexpress related. I'm running 5.0 sp3 mr2 of BES Express.

I checked the BES logs (I'm new to this - so I'm guessing MGAT was correct log). No errors I can tell. Am I looking in the right spot?
