Hi,

I am in the process of deploying Blackberry's through the company and have been asked the question of whether or not it is possible to deploy a predefined list of contacts to the handsets.

I've had a look and I can't see that this is possible, but would like a second opinion!

What messaging platform and version? What BES version and service pack level?

In a properly configured Exchange environment, you can use Public Contact Folders for this.

Its BES Express, not sure on the version or SP, sorry.

Where in the Exchange environment do you configure the Public Folder Contacts?

You'd need to address that with your Exchange administrator.

I'm also not sure if BES Express supports PCF syncing. You'll need to check that too.

Just use Google, or any number of Exchange-centric forums, for instructions on setting up a Public Contact Folder. It's not that difficult, and you'd do yourself a huge favor by learning the process on your own rather than being spoon-fed a canned answer.

You *should* be able to sync it with BES Express, but even if you can't, you'd at least have gained experience on the Exchange side.

BES express 5.x can sync a public contact folder from exchange.

I have created public folder contacts in Exchange and then enabled BES to push these to the Blackberry users and it is all working fine.
