Am I missing something here? My old BB Torch with OS 6 and now my new Bold 9930 with OS 7.1 will still not allow me to sort my photos or videos alphabetically.

I have to use a file attribute editor to change the date of each individual item to get them to sort the way I want them to sort. I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a gigantic pain in the arse this is - something I shouldn't have to do.

This ability was there in the earliest OS versions all the way up to OS 5. Can anybody shed some light on why this was left out of OS 6 and beyond?

OK so I gave up looking for any official solution from RIM or anywhere else.

I got myself a program, AttributeMagic Pro, which will change file attribute in batch mode. The "Modified" date is what we're looking at here. So if you have a bunch of pictures and you want them to be sorted alphabetically, you'd do a Z-A sort on them (since BB OS sorts from oldest to newest), and set a sequential modification on the "Modified" field. I used "24 Hours." Worked quickly and like a charm.

Still this should be unnecessary but at least it works quickly and easily.
