Several companies and government agencies have abandoned BlackBerry phones recently, even though Blackberry has been refocusing its attention on business users.

Nothing really new there... Two of my customers are large Federal agencies. Neither of them are using BlackBerry anymore. One has gone to iOS devices with Good, whilst the other has gone to Windows Phone with some form of MDM.
