Default Disable Firewall - not allowed

Please Login to Remove!

newbie here

Having 7100g from my company and want to use gps via bluetooth (BerryVine). It doesnt allow to "get position", refeering to It policy ("....has attempted to pen a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firwall chich is not allowed by your IT policy").

I cannot disable firewall in my settings, only having a reset option that doesnt change anything.

There is nothing in our It policy with regards to firewall (as far as we can figure with our support people).

I'm in Spain using v4.0.0.225 (Platform 1.8.0.129) with Movistar, have tried TCP settings at:

APN: movistar.es
Username: MOVISTAR
PASSWORD: MOVISTAR

Anyone out there who could assist, would be very grateful..

I had the same problem with BBLocal however on my 7100g with Cell One I am able to disable the firewall. Not sure why you can on some and why you cant on others, I would imagine it's carrier specific.

*Edit*
I'm running Handheld Version 4.0.2.36 Platform 1.8.0.139 You might try upgrading to that if possible? Not sure if the upgrade has anything to do with it or not though.

You need to check with your company more than likely they're using a BES (blackberry enterprise server) and they set the IT policy on the phone.

I, too, have this problem, anyone manage to fix it? I upgraded, and have tried modifications of the firewall, but I'm still denied access, I gotta say that it's a little frustrating.
