Hi

I got my BB7290 about a month ago. All was well. I loved it. Instant access to office Lotus Notes, Gmail, internet etc. Had bluetooth set up and life was becoming a breeze.
Today disaster struck. Had my BB in my pocket whilst washing my boat. Trousers got just a little damp - certinly nowhere near wet - but when I took the BB out the screen had a huge black blob - like an octopus in the middle with some vertical blue lines. No icons visible. Phone still works - i.e people can call me but I obviously can't call them as I have no screen icons to work with.
Has anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions on what to do?

Basically you have three options:

1. Send the handheld off to get repaired. A Google search will yield a number of sites that offer these services.
2. Order a replacement screen and repair it yourself. One of our platinum sponsers, ProMobility, is a good resource for this option.
3. Replace the unit. Ebay would be a good option here.
