Default Cingular 8700 & Mac questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I'm a long-time Treo person, currently with a Treo 650 on Sprint. As you know, synching with my Mac is easy as pie, and there's tons I can do with it (Bluetooth tethering, application loading, software updates, etc.)

Anyway, my work wants me on a Blackberry, so I'm trying to figure out how to deal with that.

What I gather is that, in terms of Pocket Mac, all I can do is sync iCal and Address Book, and even with those, there are issues (to do's have no date, recurring events are a little funky, etc). My question is this: what about Now Contact & Up-To-Date? I haven't seen anyone comment on the sync process with those apps, do they fare any better?

I sure hope the Blackberry world improves for the Mac gang; seems a little rough at the moment.

Thanks for the help.

Currently, Research In Motion (RIM) doesnxxx8217;t recognize the Mac community as a viable source of revenue. Unfortunately, if you are a Mac user, your options are very limited with regard to Blackberry integration. For now, PocketMac is a weak and pithy solution until something changes. Ixxx8217;m an avid Mac user and I like the Blackberry as a communicator but I also have an aging Dell workstation just for compatibility issues such as this.
Regards,

Rumors, and I do mean rumors, are that Leopard is at least going to lay the goundwork for better Blackberry support. There may be some built in support for syncing a Blackberry, or they may just be opening the door for more third party syncing options.

I'm also a die hard Mac user and I recently switched from a Treo 650 to a Blackberry 7105t. On Tuesday I'm jumping on the Blackberry Pearl. I'm syncing PocketMac with Entourage right now, really just as a way to backup my info. I'm keeping iCal and AddressBook separate for now until I'm more comfortable with co-mingling the info from Mac and Blackberry. So far I'm impressed with how well it works. My reservations are over things like categories for appointments, contacts, etc. I'm going to start experimenting with my Blackberry and a new MacBook with PocketMac so I'll know more about how well it meshes in a few days. PocketMac claims to support Now Contact & Up-To-Date, and while I'm encouraged by Entourage support, I will reserve judgement until I see how it does with iCal/AddressBook.

Default Mac and Blackberry

I just want to put this out there. I am a sold out mac user. The saying is true once you go mac you'll never go back. But i am also a sold out blackberry user. I have tried the treo and have found that there is nothing like the blackberry. If you are a mac user what i do is once a month i make backups of my bb on a pc. you will do what you need to do for it to work for you. Yes the treo is simple for mac users but there is nothing like the power of a blackberry.
It's all that and 12 bags of hot chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
