Default Icon Removal

Please Login to Remove!

Hello. Does anyone know if there is a way of removing an icon from Blackberries from the BES without having to do it manually from each handset?
Cheers.

Well by if by Icon you mean program.. yes, you can create an application control policy and set that application to Deny.

I'll need more info to help you more though... what version BES, what application, ect.

Most people will just tell you to block all un-signed apps... i dont like doing that its to restrictive. To block a specific app, you will need to get a copy of it loaded and indexed onto your BES so you can add it as a software configuration option. Then just check it as wireless install, and create a software application control policy and set it to "Deny". This will remove the app from users who have it installed.

Which app is it, just wondering?

Oh. You are in luck...

Check out your IT Policy under "Browser Policy Group". Look for "Allow IBS Browser"

"Specify whether or not the Internet Browsing Service (IBS) browser icon appears on the BlackBerry device when the service provider provisions the IBS broweser and the appropriate service books are present".

I belive if you set this to False it will take it away. Try it out and let us all know.
