Default The Pearl Battery

Is it okay to charge the Pearl's battery when it is not empty or even near empty? Is it okay to charge it every night no matter how much juice it has left?

I know in the past you weren't supposed to charge batteries unless they were near empty.

Thanks!

The recommendation is 3 full cycles when it's new. Then after that you can charge anytime you want. I did the 3 full cycles when I got it and now I charge mine every night. I have no problems with mine. I have ordered an extended battery from Seidio since my BT GPS puck seems to eat the battery pretty good.

See my post in the "how often do you charge your battery" thread.

Your statement about past practices pertains to NiCad and metal hydride batteries, where memory effect was an issue.

This does NOT pertain to lithium ion batteries, such as that in the Pearl.

Is this documented anywhere?
