Jonathan,
I copied the build.xml code in messgae #7 above and the app compiled. I will re-apply the code from your document and post the error message ASAP.

Although I have got my code to compile, when I run, the simulator (8700v) pops up but I am unable to find my app. Is there something else I am missing?

the build.xml data int this thread is configured to a specific program (you can see meshPing.alx in the data), use the build.xml data from here instead which isn't hardcoded to any specific app:

>>>Blackberry Netbeans Development

your screenshot looks fine though, anyone else got a clue?

[EDIT] - seems you're compiling okay now? but not getting your app on the device? - have you added the name of your main class (that extends UiApplication) as the midlet in the application properties in netbeans?

[EDIT2] - the build xml may have been due to a space creeping in during copy and pasting, more info here: >>>The processing instruction target matching "[xX][mM][lL]" is not allowed

Jonathan,
Thanks for that.
The compiling problem was badly formed XML - now fixed and compiling.
The loading problem was the name of the midlet - now fixed and running.

I have only got to figure out how to program a database access app and I will be flying......

Cheers.
