Question Maybe a dumb question but is version 4.2.2.66 newer or older than version 4.2.2.148

I always thought the first of the last digits was indicative of a newer release...as in the 6 in the 66 was higher than the 1 in 148...or is it just linear...the 148 is higher than the 66? Thanks!

But .148 < .66

All joking aside, for software the rule is that if the number is higher then it's newer. Forget the decimal point because it's not representative of that. So, like ^^^ said 148 is higher then 66.

It's not even a decimal point. It's just a dot to separate groups of numbers.

so obviously this sentence implies that the "decimal point" in this case (based on what the OP was thinking) is actually NOT a decimal point.
