Default Block internet but still recieve email?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way (even some 3rd party app) that can block internet browser access but still allow email pushing and sending?

I'm with verizon and they seem clueless. The rep just keep explaining the two data options. I know some carriers have an email-only option...

Is there something you can do with the service books? (blocking, filtering)

Welcome to the BBF!

I am not aware of a way to do that--still get mail AND block browser use. I don't think it is because Verizon might be clueless.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

internally, you can only block through the firewall and browser is not an option.

You can create an IT Policy to do this if you are on a BES.

Where can I get a good BB firewall?

Also, I only have a personal phone, is there any way to be on a BES as an individual?

There is a firewall already on the BB, but you can't block the browser.

Try a hosted exchange service like ExchangeMyMail. They are one of the sponsors/advertisers on this site.

well you can "Try" this on a hosted BES solution.

Can ExchangeMyMail make it so internet is blocked but email still works?

No, but getting BES service and THEN having an appropirate IT Policy with such a block can do that.

Something just sounds a little odd about this. Back up for a moment and tell us what you're trying to accomplish. Your solution might be so simple as to hide the browser icon so you never accidentally activate it.

Curious - do hosted BES providers provide MDS and IT Policy access?
