Apologies for my obvious ignorance, however, I grew up navigating by chart and sextant (I joke not) and have jumped onto the SatNav train rather late (notwithstanding the fact that the previous occupier of my flat was the original inventor of the Decca SatNav!) - I therefore have two questions please:

1) My GPS Curve has two SatNav systems built in, "Blackberry Maps" and the rather slow "TelMap / CarPhone Warehouse Navigator". Is there any difference between the two - both seem to do the same things, assuming the mobile can find a satellite?

2) Neither of the above two systems seem to automatically "roll" the map, when I am tracking my current location. i.e. I tell it to show me where it is and then, as I trot merrily along, enjoying the murky spring-time weather, the little cross moves off the edge of the map, but the map does not follow - forcing me to keep manually scrolling the map. Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks.

I'm not sure about the Carphone Warehouse version, but Blackberry Maps will let you display any address in your address book without typing it in.

When you have GPS navigation enabled in Blackberry Maps, and you're navigating by it, the display should scroll with you. Check the display settings and make sure there's not something set that's preventing it.

IIRC there's an option to have the map automatically scroll that you might need to toggle.

If neither of those applications work for you then try some of the other GPS apps mentioned here.

In Blackberry Maps, hitting the Escape key will return it to tracking.

Thank you for all your useful advice. I have not however been able to find an option/setting in either program that enables scrolling.
