Default SMS Question (8830-Sprint)

Please Login to Remove!

Hey there...I have have two blackberrys...an 8703 and now an 8830. I dont post here frequently but have been a member since I bought my 8703.

my Q is the following...

I SMS quite a bit...and those people I SMS the most seem to have a delay associated with them while I am sending and recieving messages. I have cleaned up memory, deleted LOTS of old meesages, and have also shortened the message trail to 2 messages rather than 7 (so I can keep up with the conversations).

Is there another method to speeding those people back up? When I SMS people/co-workers I speak to less frequently, the device flies!

TIA
-Ted

Messages > Menu > View Folders > SMS in and out folders > scroll to top date bar, > Menu > Delete Prior.

That will help some, perhaps, if you have a large text history.

What is your file free at Options > Status?

thanks for the SMS menu tip...I didnt even know that existed (i wish I had, i just spent an hour erasing large blocks of texts so i could keep important emails in my consolidated messages folder....OOPS)!

I had a HUGE text history...after optimizing a bit (according to the FAQ thread) and erasing all of that junk I had stored, my memory went from 8mb free to 21mb free...and the perfromance all-around seems to be greatly enhanced.

thanks again...very useful!
