Not perfect, but this enables the use of GPS with other apps

You will need a subscription for VZ Nav

1) Assign a convenience key to the app switcher
2) Launch VZ Navigator
3) Start the "Follow Me" map
4) Use your convenience key to switch to your home screen
5) Launch any GPS enabled app (I think you need a different version of Google Maps than what is built for the Pearl but GPSED works great for tracking trips and geotagging pics)

Apparently there is code in the VZ navigator that turns GPS on and off. If we could isolate that function we could do away with VZ Nav. Any coders in the house?

Thanks, it has been determined for several months (and much much bloody discussion on this forum) that using VZ Navigator would enable gps for other applications.

If you could enable it as you describe otherwise, you would make a mint selling the secret.
