Weird Mobile GMaps "feature"
Please Login to Remove!
Ok...so I installed Mobile Gmaps on my 8130 yesterday (running 4.3.1.71 OS).
Installed fine, and I poked around in it, did a few searches, etc. Kinda needs, but probably wouldn't keep it, just wanted to see what it was like compared to Google Maps.
Did a battery pull this afternoon (darn low memory) and after the reboot I had a big "OK" button in the middle of the screen (see pic). Um, so I click Ok (what else can I do??).
I then use the trackball to click on the Applications icon (you'll see I'm using the L theme) and I get that stupid OK box again. ARG! Click ok again, and click on the Applications icon again. This time it goes into the Messages application. HUH? Let's try that again. Click on Applications icon and.....OK button again. STOP IT! Click ok, click Applications icon again and go into Messages. This is maddening!
Ok, back out of Messages and try pressing the Menu button this time (while still viewing the L theme). Up pops the Move/Hide/Move menu. GAAAH!! Press Escape key to close menu. Press Menu button again.... Move/Hide menu again. This is really starting to annoy me.
FINE. Let's try another battery pull (queue Jeopardy theme music while we wait....)
After the reboot I can then click on the Applications icon or press the menu key to see all the icons. So far so good.
I want to un-install Mobile GMaps so I go into the Applications menu and it's not there.....what? Ok, go into Modules....nothing there either. What the.....
Back out to main screen...and the frigging icon for Mobile GMaps is gone, too! I connect the device to DTM and run Application Loader....no Mobile GMaps listed there. Enable Mass Storage mode for the media card...nothing there either (except my pics and stuff).
Ok, so this application completely uninstalled itself after 2 battery pulls??? I mean, I'm glad it's gone since I was going to remove it anyway, but this is is one heck of a 'feature'......
