Why anyone would preorder from these idiots is beyond me. They will not get the phone any faster that your local ATT store and in fact the store will likely have them for sale sooner.

I would rather pay retail at AT&T and have some recourse rather than buy it from an online reseller and fight when I have a problem. Oooh and the sale price of $719.99 when its expected to be $500-600 retail. I'll pass.

$500 retail?

Wonder how much with a contract.

They better not make it TOO pricey or people on the fence about making the switch to iPhone will switch.

Yeah I am going to buy the iPhone 2 regardless now because of the price. I am going to buy the Bold if it is in line with previous BB release prices. BUT, if it is anything like the rumors of $800 or anywhere around there. I say I don't need BB that badly. But ya, your right. If it is too expensive Bold will fail. They are expanding into other markets because the pure business market is too saturated. The only way they are booming in marketshare compared to other phones right now is because the consumer market is buying blackberries now. Make it too expensive and consumers will not bite. Business customers will .. but they will lose the other half especially since $199 is the iphone 2 price.

This is not the time for RIM to get an inflated head because they are able to post huge market earnings and think people will keep buying devices at $800 or even $600. The only reason they are able to post those numbers is because of the average joe.

Just remember that ATT will be making up it's profit with a extra $10 added to your iPhone plan plus even more if you want texting. If you add $20 per month for two years, $480 will be added to the cost of the phone.

Most who can not decide between a iPhone and Blackberry should likely get the iPhone! For me there is no choice as one has a keyboard and the other does not. I could not deal with the 60+ emails a day without a real keyboard.

Before you iPhone2 people go ballistic, I think it is a good device and many will love it. Choice is good!

Exactly Numetheus.

Honestly, I think even $300 (WITH Contract) would be too high for the Bold.

If I have to pay $300 for a phone anyway, then it would be the Bold or the upper end 16G iPhone2.

This is just a hard choice for me and I am really struggling with it. I am not one of these guys that can afford both. I can barely afford one, and considering I just upgraded to the Curve on May 17 (Dang I am a dumb @#@#), my wife is already wondering why I want to upgrade again.

Of course, she is drooling over the iPhone her self, so I digress. LOL..

Me, on the other hand, have to really decide and it is not an easy one.
