Yeah. Not even a single rumor or leak. Everybody else is having a party but all the cdma users. Pooey. I hear 4.5 is just about the same as the 4.3 that should be on your 8130 with a few exceptions
8130 users actually had their party early. Many don't realize that the new feature list going from 4.3 to 4.5 is pretty short (compared to 4.2). HTML email and Docs to Go being the most important items that are MIA, for now.
Wow I didn't stop to think that most users had a 4.2 os where since I've had my pearl I've had 4.3 so I guess I just need to calm down and wait this one out. But what's the new 8130 upgrade? Is there actually any difference?
I just updated my girlfriend's 8100 to 4.5 and it seemed visually pretty close to my 4.3 for the 8130. Docs to Go and some tweeks to the media player are all I've really noticed so far. I also couldn't find an EQ setting for the media player, which was disappointing.
I guess I forgot how much of an upgrade it was when I went from the 8100 to the 8130. Side by side, the 8130 still processed pictures, theme changes, etc. much faster.
I too got caught up in the newest version game, but for all of the 4.2 upgrader's, they will be pretty happy.
I dont think they are releasing 4.5 for the CDMA devices, just 4.6. I contacted the support dept (of a company I will not name) and though it was unrelated, they told me
"We have tested on a 4.3 Pearl without a problem (and 4.1, 4.2, and 4.6)..."
There is no OS 4.6 for any devices that have been sent to any partners, developers, or even carriers - as of yet - except the 9000 and 9100. The next OS for the CDMA devices will be OS 4.5. It has been running fairly close behind the development of the GSM counterparts, so I think we should expect a release of it sometime before the end of Summer - August/Sept - at the latest. We should expect to see OS 5.0 after that, imo.
...OS 4.5 is now in the wild for all 8x30 devices.
