I placed an order on Friday for the Pearl with my corporate rep. I received a confirmation email early saturday stating the order was placed but the device was backordered. I checked the order on Saturday evening and it say shipped and it gives me a DHL tracking number. I would guess i'm getting it on Tuesday. It's shipping from TX and I'm in NYC.

Great for you that you got yours. There seems to be some inconsistencies when it comes to who is getting their orders shipped. I ordered since 11/28 and I'm being told my order will not be shipped until 12/18, this is when they expect the next big shipment.

At this point I don't know what to believe anymore. I guess I'll try to just be patient and wait.

The people who got Pearls, please post some real pics. Thanks

Those already with Cingular Pearls, can anyone confirm if it comes with multi-language already loaded? In the presentation from BoyGenius' site it stated multi-language in the features.

I'm interested to know because I occasionally type emails in Spanish.

Thanks everyone.

I think it does, when I first turned on the phone it's asks you what language.

Hi,

I'm new to the forums. I've found the site really informative. I don't have my Cingular Blackberry Pearl yet. I ordered it on the 1st as soon as I saw I could get it online. I did the upgrade and got a travel charger and 1gig SD card. In all I believe it was $350. They sent me emails telling me my Pearl was on backorder (not the SD card or charger). I looked yesterday (the 2nd) and now it says all of it has shipped. I cant wait to get it as it is my 1st blackberry.

I'm in St. Louis, and I found them at the Brentwood store and the Chesterfield Mall Store.

Do you have the option to turn off Autodim in the screen/keyboard options?

Thanks

Default Cingular Premier Down?

I was having problem ordering from Cingular Premier web site through my company's account. I called Cingular asking about if I can purchase over the phone but they transferred me all over and I spoke to some on the personal wireless side rather than business wireless side. He reviewed my account and told me I was not eligible for update.
I think that's a total BS. I was able to go through the check out process on Cingular Premier for $299 without plan before the web site crapped out on me.
I went home on Friday and tried to get on Cingular Premier but it kept on telling me the site is under maintenance. I checked about half an hour ago but it was still not up.
And I being wrong here? If I order from Premier I can get it for $299 without plan, right? What does that have to do with if I am eligible for upgrade or not? Also, if I go into a local Cingular store next week, what kind of pricing am I expected to get? My local stores told me that they would have them next week but refused to tell me how much they would charge me.

Local stores in Jax, Fl have the 8100c for $349 less $50 rebate which will equal $299.

The Premier site is indeed down... Its been down since either late Friday or early Saturday I forget which. With Cingular Premier, I was told by the Premier CSR that I get 2 upgrades a year with the $18 upgrade fee. I don't know if you can upgrade on the phone or if it has to be online though.

I was able to place an order for the Pearl at about 8:40 am on Friday and up until the Premier site went down for maintenance all it said was "Pending."
After searching around the regular Cingular site I found a place to track my order and according to that the phone was shipped and picked up on Saturday and I should have it either Monday or Tuesday.

Now that some folks have had the phone for a couple of days can anyone else attest to whether or not the Cingular version has the same issues with the trackball silencing the phone when moved as the Tmo version? I know there has been a post or two about this already, but I just wanted to get an update on everyone else's experience. My buddy has the Tmo version and he has complained about missing calls due to this.

Also, has anyone tried the Telenav option on this phone? How well does it work?

The trackball does not silence incoming calls on the Cingular version.
