Please Login to Remove!

Try using JL_Cmdr to wipe the device then reload the OS.

If I had to take a guess, I would say that it seems that the .64 revision of the OS seems to be driving the XScale processor a bit harder, thus achieving the higher speed. This of course is at the cost of lower battery life.

I cannot confirm this in any way at the moment, but it would certainly explain the issues some people are reporting.

The only way to know for sure is to run some sort of application that shows the current CPU speed, and then compare the two OS revisions.

got .42 back on. finally got outlook updated and loaded. Now for the fun! Afraid to try to .64 again. it was a bad experience the 1st time. not sure why, but nervewracking nonetheless! lolol!

EDITED: Well I put the .64 on. The problem yesterday was me. Didn't realize it would take 10+ mins to boot after the change and kept turning it off. Finally loaded now and tinkering! WIll report later!

I am presently using 4.2.0.51 on rogers, I installed the latest OS (link above) and I run desktop manager, and application loader, but it doesn't upgrade at all what should I do?

Before anything back up your device!
1: Download the update.
2: Close desktop manager.
3: Install the update on your computer.
4: Locate the vendor xml file (should be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader ) then delete that file.
5: Then start the desktop manager and it should start the update.

I believe, but could be wrong that if you updated your software with the 4.2.0.51 you first should uninstall that version on your computer then install the newer software.

I've stayed with the rogers update. haven't determined an advantage to going with the O2. the call delay was addressed in the roger's upate. I think it stayed fixed in this too, but don't hold me to that.

I stopped having the call delay issue with the Rogers OS. I run the o2 OS now and I also don't have a call delay issue. The Auto dim function is still automatically defaulted to "on" with the o2 OS and there is no option to turn it off.
