What are the chances you can order by calling Cingular? Will they let you preorder and then ship it when it is finally announced?

Great! FedEx just delivered my OEM accessories for the 8800 I do not have! <sad>
I just got the Black Leather holster with swivel clip. You can feel the molded area where the roller ball is protected on inside the front and back parts of the case so you can insert the phone either way.
The 8800 comes with a holster but I did not know that when I ordered. Always use a spare.
Waiting!

Until they put the 8800 into the system, you can not order the phone from past experience. Not sure if it will go into the system till official launch date

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8700: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
Just picked mine up this afternoon. Love it so far. Will post some comparison pics tonight. Little wider and longer than the 8700c, but of course much thinner. Keyboard is different...but better. Love the new ringtones/alerts.

Just got mine. Apparently all of Atlanta had theirs in a FedEx shipment today. Got mine at the Cascade store. I called many, they were the only ones that were helpful. One other store I called was waiting on their FedEx Shipment.

Mine came with a holster clip case as well. It's not my favorite, but atleast they included one this time.

I am also shocked that a case was even available! With the Pearl there was nothing and for a while you could not find a OEM case at all. Cingy tossing in a case was a nice touch!

Picked mine up in Raleigh NC about 20 mins ago
They are in store, however not in the system. I asked a rep at the store just for the heck of it and she walked back with one. Took some time to figure out pricing and how to charge me etc. Very nice phone. Off to ebay with the 8700 ! The box has the phone, a leather case with belt clip, charger, cd, wired headset, cable, manual. -scrh1

I found a store demo unit that I got to play with at the Cingular store in Round Rock at 1325/I-35, near the Home Depot. They didn't have any units in stock yet for sale, but at least I got my hands on one to try it out.

I was told it was going to be $549 retail, but they didn't seem real sure about that.

It was 499 retail. 299$ for a 2yr contract with a 50 Rebate. 1 year price is $425. Hope that helps. I wound up buying it for the retail price less my corp discount which gave me a much better price than the 2 yr contract with rebate. No wait and no contract. - scrh1

Got 8800 today at local store
Got mine today. Am still fooling around with it. Definitely feels more substantial than the 8700. The trackball is sweet. Also got the micro-SD for media and the Tel-Nav for GPS....
Will report as I learn more.....

I called the 86th st. store in NYC and the woman said they had them in stock. So i walked over, and was there in about 10 minutes. I told the sales rep that I called a few minutes ago and she said they were in. The woman asked me if it was for a new contract, and I told her it was an existing line, but a new blackberry data plan. She looked up my number in their system, and then she went to the back room When she returned she told me they were all sold out. I responded that I had just called and was told they were in. We argued for a bit, until I asked to see a manager. He was on a conference call, so I siad I would wait. About 20 minutes later he comes out and I tell him what I was told, etc. He finally admitted that they did have some in stock but it they would sell to new cingular accounts ONLY. I was pretty mad. I mean, I've been a loyal cingular customer for a long time. I give them a lot of money, and I was going to be buying the phone for FULL RETAIL. Still, he would not budge. I told him that if that was cingular's policy, I thought it was pretty crappy to do to their existing customers. But I was more mad that I was being lied to in the first place. I may hold out and wait for tmobile to release theirs and just switch carriers. Anyone else have this problem with trying to buy an 8800?
